Combi Boilers

Combines central heating and domestic hot water in one compact unit. Best for: homes with 1-2 bathrooms, condos, apartments, and homes with limited space. Pros: no tanks needed, energy efficient (no standing losses), unlimited hot water. Cons: limited simultaneous hot water flow, may struggle with 3+ bathrooms.

System Boilers

Works with a separate hot water cylinder (stored hot water). Best for: homes with 3+ bathrooms, high simultaneous hot water demand, and homes with space for a cylinder. Pros: excellent hot water flow, compatible with solar thermal, DHW priority options. Cons: takes more space, higher upfront cost than combi.

Conventional (Regular) Boilers

Requires both a cold water tank in the attic and a hot water cylinder. Best for: older homes with existing conventional systems, homes with low water pressure. Pros: gravity-fed system works without pumps for hot water, familiar technology. Cons: most space required, least efficient, outdated technology.
