Boiler Temperature Sensor Replacement Cost in Vancouver

What the Temperature Sensor Does
The temperature sensor (thermistor) measures water temperature and sends this data to the control board. The control board uses this information to regulate burner operation. An inaccurate sensor causes the boiler to heat water to the wrong temperature.
Signs of Sensor Failure
The boiler water is too hot or not hot enough, the boiler short-cycles, the display shows an incorrect temperature reading, the boiler overheats and triggers the high-limit, or the boiler does not fire because it thinks the water is already hot enough.
Replacement Cost
Temperature sensor replacement costs $200-400 including the sensor ($50-150) and labour ($150-250). Sensors are inexpensive and quick to replace. If the sensor fails on an older boiler, check for other signs of aging that may warrant replacement.
