Boiler Warranty Guide — What Common Failures Are Covered

Published: July 21, 2026 — CANRO Heating & Cooling — Greater Vancouver, BC

Commonly Covered Failures

Heat exchanger defects (corrosion within 10-15 years), control board failures (electronic defects), gas valve malfunctions (manufacturing defects), and burner assembly defects. Coverage is typically parts only — labour is your responsibility.

Commonly Denied Claims

Failures caused by: improper installation (unlicensed installer, incorrect sizing), lack of annual maintenance (no service records), water quality issues (scale, sludge, corrosion from untreated water), power surges, and freeze damage. Keep all maintenance receipts.

Maximizing Coverage

Register your warranty within 90 days of installation. Use only licensed gas fitters for annual service. Use system inhibitor and document its annual top-up. Address error codes promptly — ignoring warnings can turn a covered repair into an uncovered replacement.

Safety Reminder

If you smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide or believe there is an immediate danger, leave the property and contact emergency services or the appropriate gas emergency authority. Do not remain inside — exit the building immediately and call for help from outside.
